Introducing the White Bear Dress! My good friend and shop neighbor, Shauna White Bear (also modeling this dress) makes incredible moccasins. She’s a collector of the best vintage pieces. One day, she brought over a dress that she loved that was falling apart and was telling me how much she loved it. We decided it should be the White Bear Dress and sent it off to my pattern maker with some minor adjustments. Shown here in size Large (though the medium would have been more fitting) paired with the Midi Linen Pinafore in Wheat.

Material: This fabric is a rusty brown floral rayon with lace details. Made from deadstock material. Deadstock is the leftover fabric from other fashion houses. By using it, we are not participating in the new fabric industry, which is very toxic to the earth. Want to know more about deadstock fabric?

I have this dress in the original pattern (yellow plaid) and the new version in the navy/white check. This dress is my favorite piece from Revivall and will likely purchase more in different fabrics. The kicker with this dress is the sizing. I have an athletic build with moderate arm muscles. The small fits perfectly everywhere but the arm holes, they are tiny! The good news is that I had the arm holes altered and there is enough fabric to widen the arms without having to add extra fabric (which is what we were going to do if there wasn’t enough fabric). This new sizing pattern won’t deter me from purchasing this dress again, I just know that I’ll be getting the arms altered.
