The Dorothy Catherine has a similar history to the Rosemary Dress. One of RevivALL’s expert seamstresses, Cora, found this dress in her Mother’s closet after she passed away. It was actually Cora’s elder daughter that spotted the potential of this dress. We always love a good wrap dress and have been wanting to make one for years, so when Cora brought me this idea, it was an no brainer.
Why do we love this new dress so much? Adjustable tie closure makes it an easy fit, the smocking at the shoulder adds a touch of romance, and the cap sleeves are reminiscent of the 1940s. This fabric is a rayon with a lovely drape. Model is wearing size medium. Please note that because this dress is so adjustable, the size chart below lists base measurements.
Made from deadstock fabric, this rayon floral 40s inspired dress is easy to wear and easy on the planet. Deadstock is the leftover fabric from other fashion houses. By using it, we are not participating in the new fabric industry, which is very toxic to the earth.

This is a beautiful dress. It fits true to size. It’s long, maxi length on me as expected, but that’s an easy fix. The material is soft and elegant, and while it’s not obvious, there’s a subtle vertical line to the floral print that flatters the figure. Color-wise, the background is more burnt orange verging on a pretty brown; this is more sophisticated and intriguing than a bright orange. A topper in denim, beige, navy, or brown would be great. The wrap dress style is classic, and the smocking and slightly puffed sleeves make it unique. I could see myself wearing this dress to a wedding in June, and forever. Thanks Laura & Co., it’s my first purchase and I love it.
