I don’t know about you, but there’s some shirts of my Dad’s that take me back in time. Memories of him wearing the classic Sears flannel led to me asking if I could have a couple. They’re just sitting in his closet these days, not meaning much to him, but to me, they’re full of a feeling.
The oversized flannels from the 90s, made in the USA (when that was still a thing), that you can throw over a bathing suit, jeans, or to lounge around the house are a vibe. And I’m here for it. I’ve been wearing his flannel the past 2 years through all seasons and decided to make a version for you.
This one’s a vintage 100% cotton flannel that I’ve washed and worn many times, ensuring that perfect lived in feeling would last and not fade or pill. Both the body of the shirt and the sleeves are long but the sleeves look great cuffed and you can tie the waist for a feminine feel. The cut on this shirt is more of a boxy, masculine fit but can be worn by everyone.
I’m wearing a medium in the photos but usually wear an XS, I just like the oversized fit.
Material: This fabric is a perfect weight cotton plaid flannel. Made from deadstock material, Dad’s flannel is easy to wear and easy on the planet. Deadstock is the leftover fabric from other fashion houses. By using it, we are not participating in the new fabric industry, which is very toxic to the earth.
